Text: Acts 1:8 (KJV) - "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
Beloved brethren, today we gather in the presence of the Almighty, heirs to the promise of power from on high. As we embark on this journey of understanding the supernatural movement, let us delve deep into the Word of God and open our hearts to receive the revelation that the Holy Spirit desires to impart upon us.
In Acts 1:8, we are reminded of the divine promise given by our Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples before His ascension into heaven. He assured them that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit descended upon them. This power was not merely for their personal gratification but for a higher purpose - to be witnesses unto Him in all the earth.
The supernatural movement, dear congregation, is not a mere historical event recorded in the annals of Scripture. It is a living reality, a continuous outpouring of God's power upon His people, enabling them to accomplish His will on earth as it is in heaven.
Let us turn our attention to the book of Acts, where we witness the manifestation of the supernatural in the early Church. In Acts 2, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples with power and tongues of fire, empowering them to speak in languages they had not learned. This supernatural phenomenon drew the attention of multitudes, and Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly proclaimed the gospel, resulting in three thousand souls being added to the Church that day.
Acts 3 recounts the miraculous healing of a lame beggar at the temple gate called Beautiful. Through the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Peter and John commanded the man to rise up and walk, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. This supernatural display of healing brought glory to God and opened doors for the proclamation of the gospel.
In Acts 9, we read of the conversion of Saul of Tarsus, who was transformed from a persecutor of the Church to a preacher of the gospel through a supernatural encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. Saul, later known as the apostle Paul, became instrumental in spreading the message of salvation to the Gentiles, performing signs and wonders in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Beloved, the supernatural movement is not confined to the pages of Scripture or the annals of history. It is unfolding even now, in our midst, as God continues to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. We see miraculous healings, deliverances, and divine interventions taking place in our churches and communities.
But let us not be content with observing the supernatural from a distance. Let us earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially that we may prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:1). Let us eagerly pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that we may prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:1). Let us earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 1:3).
In conclusion, dear brethren, let us embrace the supernatural movement with faith and expectancy, knowing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us (Romans 8:11). Let us walk in the authority and anointing of the Holy Spirit, fulfilling the Great Commission and advancing the kingdom of God on earth. May we be like the early disciples, bold and unashamed, demonstrating the love and power of God to a world in desperate need of His saving grace. Amen.
